| Reverse description | The reverse features two large renditions of the Armenian letter Ի (I), the twelfth letter of the Armenian alphabet: at left, an ornately illuminated manuscript-style version framed within an intricately decorated rectangular cartouche with interlaced vegetal scrollwork, and at right, a plain modern-style capital form in high relief. The complete Armenian alphabet, comprising all 38 letters, is inscribed in Armenian script encircling the periphery of the field. A small decorative star or floral ornament appears between the alphabet legend and the central motifs. |
