Obverse description The Armenian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a crowned eagle displayed above a lion passant, with a central shield bearing the traditional quarterings of historic Armenian kingdoms and Mount Ararat, flanked by a sword and an eagle feather. The Armenian legend ՀԱՅԱՍՏԱՆԻ ՀԱՆՐԱՊԵՏՈՒԹՅՈՒՆ (Republic of Armenia) arcs along the upper periphery in Armenian script. The denomination 500 DRAM • ԴՐԱՄ is inscribed along the lower portion in Latin and Armenian characters, with the date 2013 to the left and the fineness mark Ag999 to the right of the arms.
