Reverse description The reverse is dominated by three large guilloche rosette medallions arranged horizontally, each bearing the numeral 500 in elaborate lathe-work engraving, with the French-language bank title BANQUE NATIONALE DE GRÈCE arching across the upper centre and the denomination 500 FRANCS set within a central oval cartouche flanked by wheat-ear vignettes. An inverted lilac underprint of the numeral 500 occupies the lower centre as a security element, and the imprint of the American Bank Note Company, New York appears at the foot of the note.
