| Reverse description | The reverse depicts Princess Libuse, the legendary Bohemian prophetess, shown full-length and facing slightly upward with arms raised, her robes flowing dynamically around her figure. She is shown in the act of prophesying, supporting above her a billowing cloudbank upon which a detailed panoramic view of Prague Castle (Hradčany) is rendered, with St. Vitus Cathedral prominently visible amid radiating rays of light emanating from behind the cityscape. Two serpentine figures flank her on either side. The Czech inscription, translating as 'Princess Libuse: I see a great city whose glory shall touch the stars,' is arranged along the circular border of the field. |
