Pei's distinctive prismatic skyscraper — is rendered in intaglio at left centre against a pale guilloche underprint, with a large peony blossom vignette occupying the right portion of the face. Bilingual denomination inscriptions appear at lower left, accompanied by the bank's Chinese and English titles and the full promise-to-pay legend across the centre field. The date and the General Manager's designation for the Hong Kong Branch are printed in the lower register.
