| Obverse description | The State of Sharjah coat of arms occupies the central field, featuring two crossed flags surmounted by a palm tree, the entire device encircled by a wreath of laurel branches. The bilingual legend STATE OF SHARJAH appears in Latin script with its Arabic equivalent حكومة الشارقة, flanking the arms. The dual date 1970 / ١٣٨٩ and the denomination 500 DIRHAMS = 5 RIYALS are inscribed in both Arabic and Latin scripts, with the mintage figure 1000 also noted on the coin. |
