500 Dinara Olympics - Cross-Country Skiing

Bosnia and Herzegovina issued this coin in 1993 while the country was actively at war — the siege of Sarajevo was in its second year, and the young republic had no functioning central bank infrastructure to speak of. Striking commemorative coinage during active armed conflict is unusual enough; doing so for the Lillehammer Winter Olympics, held in February 1994, makes this one of the stranger numismatic decisions of the decade.

Production was almost certainly contracted abroad, as domestic minting capacity was nonexistent at the time.
