| Obverse description | Left-center vignette of Jovan Cvijić (1865–1927), the eminent Serbian geographer, rendered in intaglio in a three-quarter portrait facing right, set against a multicolored guilloche underprint incorporating a stylized world map with cartographic grid lines in pink and blue tones. The 2004 Serbian dinar series, of which this is part, followed the redenomination that stripped a zero from the Yugoslav dinar successor currency in 2003 — the Narodna Banka Srbije rebranding itself mid-series as the country navigated post-Milošević monetary reconstruction. ZIN in Topčider has been producing Yugoslav and Serbian currency since the interwar period, giving it an unusual continuity of function across radically different political orders.
