Printed at Dom Štampe in Zenica while the city itself was under active wartime conditions, this note was produced entirely within besieged Bosnian territory — an unusual circumstance for any modern banknote series. Most countries under comparable military pressure relied on foreign printers; Bosnia's government made a deliberate point of maintaining domestic production capacity even as infrastructure around it collapsed.
The 1994 series suffered from severe hyperinflation almost immediately upon issue, rendering high-denomination notes like this one functionally obsolete within months of printing.
