| Obverse description | Central field bears a four-line Arabic inscription within a beaded inner circle, reading the royal titulature of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh Qājār. The legend is framed by an open wreath of oak leaves tied with a ribbon at the base, with the mint name Tehran appearing at the very bottom outside the wreath. The overall design is executed in a bold calligraphic style characteristic of Qajar-era coinage, with the text arranged in a slightly curved, stacked format filling the central medallion. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicts the Imperial Iranian Lion and Sun emblem: a striding lion in profile to the right, holding an upright sword in its right forepaw, with a radiant sun rising behind its back. Above the lion, a Kiani crown surmounts the composition. The entire device is enclosed within an open wreath of oak leaves tied at the base with a ribbon. Below the lion, the denomination '۵۰۰ دینار' is inscribed across the exergual line, with the AH date '۱۲۹۷' appearing at the very bottom of the field beneath the wreath. |
