| Opmerkingen |
Nicaragua's shift to polymer for this denomination came as part of a broader Central American move toward substrate modernization, but the 500 Córdoba note is notable for being among the higher-value polymer issues in the region — most countries introduce polymer at low denominations first, as a hedge against public resistance. Nicaragua skipped that caution.
The series ran across a four-year production window, and minor variations in the optically variable device placement have been noted between earlier and later printings, though Pick does not yet sub-classify them.
