| 备注 |
Nicaragua's 1972 series was issued under the Somoza government at a moment of relative monetary stability — that calm was short-lived. The catastrophic earthquake of December 1972 devastated Managua and triggered severe economic disruption, meaning much of this high-denomination series entered circulation almost immediately into crisis conditions rather than routine banking use.
Thomas De La Rue's involvement in Nicaraguan currency printing was longstanding by this point, and the 500 Córdobas represented the top denomination in the series. High-value notes from this run are frequently encountered with heavy use precisely because the post-earthquake period accelerated cash transactions and strained the existing note supply.
