Obverse description Portrait of King Rama IX Bhumibol Adulyadej in full royal regalia positioned to the right, with a decorative guilloche underprint in multicolour tones and a central vignette of a Garuda and naga motif to the left. Two signature lines appear beneath the central design, with the denomination in Thai numerals at the lower right. The Garuda national emblem appears at the upper centre above the main Thai inscription.

Reverse description Central intaglio vignette of Phra Prang Sam Yod, the three Khmer-style towers of the historical sanctuary at Lopburi, rendered in fine line engraving against a lightly tinted background. A large circular guilloche medallion occupies the left field, while decorative Thai border patterns frame all four edges. The denomination 500 appears in both Western and Thai numerals at the upper corners.
