| 背面描述 | The reverse presents the denomination numeral '500' in large, bold raised digits occupying the central field within a recessed rectangular panel with rounded corners, giving the design a distinctly modern typographic character. The Austral currency symbol (a stylised 'A' with two horizontal bars) appears at the top of the field, above the denomination. The four-digit date of issue is inscribed in smaller numerals along the lower portion of the field, below the denomination panel. |

The austral itself was introduced in 1985 as a direct response to Argentina's catastrophic inflation, replacing the peso argentino at 1,000 to one. By the time aluminium coins of this denomination were being struck, annual inflation had already surpassed 3,000 percent — making the metal value of the coin more stable than its face value. The currency was abolished in 1992, replaced by the convertibility peso at 10,000 australes to one.
