| Obverse description | Central vignette of Salvador Correia de Sá e Benevides (1594–1662), the Portuguese admiral and colonial administrator who reconquered Angola and São Tomé from the Dutch in 1648, rendered in fine intaglio engraving. A waterfall vignette appears alongside the portrait, set within an elaborately guillochéd frame. The bank name and denomination are inscribed in letterpress above and below the central design. |
