| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Rwanda centrally positioned within a raised inner circle, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The arms feature a traditional hut, a sorghum plant, a coffee branch, a knot of grass, and a sun, with a ribbon at the base bearing the national motto in Kinyarwanda. The legend BANKI NKURU Y'U RWANDA arcs along the upper periphery, while AMAFARANGA 500 MAGANA ATANU appears along the lower border.
