Along the lower periphery, the denomination AMAFARANGA 500 MAGANA ATANU is inscribed in bold relief. An inner circular border separates the central device from the peripheral legends. The motto UBUMWE - UMURIMO - GUKUNDA IGIHUGU appears on a scroll beneath the shield within the coat of arms. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A highly sculptural, gold-plated three-dimensional figure of a rearing goat dominates the centre of the reverse, rendered in fine detail with prominent curved horns and flowing beard. The goat rests its forelegs upon a large traditional Chinese cash coin bearing Chinese characters, set atop a mound of gold ingots and additional cash coins, all finished in gold plating against the silver field. Chinese characters are incised into the flat silver field around the periphery of the composition. The inscription YEAR OF THE GOAT arcs along the upper border, with the date 2015 below, completing the lunar new year theme. |
