The Vanda tricolor is a Southeast Asian orchid native primarily to Java and Bali, with no geographic or cultural connection to Rwanda whatsoever. Rwanda has issued a long-running series of fine silver coins under foreign licensing arrangements — typically coordinated through the Coin Invest Trust (CIT) in Liechtenstein — that use the country's issuing authority purely as a legal vehicle while targeting the European collector market. This piece is one of those.
