Obverse description Portrait of King Muhammad Zahir Shah at left, within a fine guilloche border, rendered in intaglio. A large ornate rosette vignette occupies the right half of the note, with the Afghan state emblem centrally placed beneath the Dari text inscriptions. Two signatures appear below the central text, with denomination numerals in Arabic and Western script in the upper corners.

The composition is framed by intricate guilloche borders with floral rosette ornaments at each corner. Denomination numerals appear in Arabic and Western script in all four corners, with the bank title inscribed along the lower margin in Dari.
