| Obverse description | Plain cream paper note with a typeset layout enclosed within a fine-line rectangular border with ornamental corner squares. The issuer's name in Gothic Fraktur script across the top reads 'Die Rheinischen Stahlwerke A.G. in Duisburg Meiderich', flanked on both upper corners by the numeral '500000'. The denomination 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark' is set in large bold Gothic type at the centre, above a faint yellow-green underprint of the same value.
