| Obverse description | The obverse is printed in violet on white paper, centred on a dense guilloche underprint of three interlocking rosette medallions flanked by circular lathe-work ornaments at each corner. The bold letterpress legend "GUTSCHEIN ÜBER ½ MILLION MARK" occupies the upper left, with the issue date "Hannover, den 15. August 1923" to its right, while the arms of Hannover — a rampant white horse on a red field — appear at lower centre between the joint-issuer legends. The names of twelve regional towns form a decorative typographic border along all four margins. |
