| Obverse description | The obverse of this Notgeld note is printed on an underlying 1 000 Mark note issued by the Stadt Trier, with an elaborate guilloche border and decorative floral cornerpieces in brown tones. A bold black letterpress surcharge reading '500 000 M' and 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark' is applied diagonally across the centre, partially obscuring the original text, which includes the issuing authority, a serial number, and date of 15 Februar 1923. The imprint 'Schaar & Dathe, Trier' appears at the lower margin, and two manuscript signatures of municipal officials are present below the text block. |
