| Obverse description | The face is set within a letterpress-printed decorative border of interlocking lozenge and arch ornaments, with the denomination numeral 500.000 repeated vertically in large green print along the right margin. The issuing authority heading in Gothic script reads "Notgeld der Stadt Oberhausen Rhld." above the denomination rendered in large blackletter as "Fünfhundert-Tausend Mark" flanked by the numerals 500 000 on either side. Below, a text block in smaller roman type states the conditions of legal tender acceptance, the issue date of 1 August 1923, and carries a serial number with letter prefix, alongside the printed title "Der Oberbürgermeister" with a manuscript signature. |
