| Obverse description | Letterpress-printed Notgeld voucher in purple and ochre on cream paper, enclosed within a scalloped guilloche border. The central text panel is flanked by two repeated vignettes of the Elberfeld municipal coat of arms — a walled castle with lion supporters — printed in ochre, and carries the denomination in bold Gothic script reading 'Fünfhunderttausend Mark'. The vertical side panels bear the numeral '500000 Mark' in large bold type, and a circular Stadt Elberfeld dry seal is impressed at centre. |
