The kuponi was Georgia's transitional currency, introduced in 1993 as a coupon-based stopgap after the collapse of the Soviet ruble zone. By 1994, hyperinflation had already gutted its purchasing power so severely that denominations of this magnitude became routine rather than remarkable — the 500,000 kuponi represented a system in freefall, not an exceptional value.
The "Printed: 30.04.1945" field almost certainly reflects a plate or reference anomaly in the catalog data rather than a genuine print date. Georgia's kuponi series was produced in the 1990s; 1945 predates the issuing institution by nearly five decades.
