| Obverse description | Notgeld voucher printed in teal and ochre on cream paper, with a multi-bordered frame of fine guilloche ornamental patterns enclosing the entire design. The denomination 'Fünfhundert Millionen Mark' is set in large Gothic blackletter type at centre, flanked by numeral '500' underprints on both sides, with the issuer legend 'Gutschein des Rheingaukreises' across the top and a bold 'RHEINGAUKREIS' watermark-style underprint across the mid-field. A detachable coupon strip at right, printed in ochre, carries the vertical inscription '500 Millionen' in cursive script. The lower portion contains the issue date, committee signatures, a circular official violet ink stamp with eagle device, and the validity notice in small letterpress text. |
