Obverse description Central device features the Polish white eagle displayed with wings spread, head turned to the right, wearing a royal crown, rendered in high relief against a flat field. The eagle's talons grip a decorative shield at the base, and fine feather detailing is evident across the body and wings. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs around the periphery, with the date split as 19 and 24 flanking the lower body of the eagle. The design reflects the heraldic tradition of the Polish national emblem as adopted by the Second Polish Republic.

Additional information

Bank Polski was established in 1924 as part of Władysław Grabski's sweeping monetary reform — the effort that replaced the deeply devalued Polish mark with the new złoty at a rate of 1,800,000 marks to one złoty. Trial strikes in copper like this piece were produced during the design vetting process for the new denomination, testing die quality and relief depth before the chosen composition and specifications were committed to production. The 50-złoty denomination itself was never issued for circulation in this form.
