The date 1981 is split on either side of the eagle's talons, with the mint mark 'MW' below. The denomination '50' in large numerals appears in the lower field, flanked by the currency abbreviations 'ZŁ' on each side. The circular legend 'POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA' (Polish People's Republic) runs along the upper periphery, engraved by Anna Jarnuszkiewicz. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A bearded, right-facing bust of Duke Władysław I Herman (reigned 1079–1102) depicted in medieval attire, wearing an ornate ducal cap adorned with a beaded crown band and a cross finial, with long hair flowing to the shoulders and a clasp visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine sculptural detail, engraved by Stanisława Wątróbska-Frindt. A beaded inner circle frames the portrait, with the legend 'WŁADYSŁAW I HERMAN' arcing across the upper field and the regnal dates '1079' and '1102' flanking a central ornament in the lower exergue. |
