| 裏面の説明 | A detailed frontal view of the Grand Theatre (Teatr Wielki) in Warsaw is rendered in the center of the field, depicting the neoclassical façade of the building with its prominent columned portico, broad wings, and stepped podium. Stylized clouds are shown above the building in the upper field, enhancing the compositional depth. The inscription 'TEATRU WIELKIEGO' arcs along the upper periphery, while '150 LAT' is inscribed in large characters along the lower rim, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the theatre. The word 'PRÓBA' (trial/pattern) appears in small letters beneath the building, identifying this piece as a pattern strike. The design is the work of engraver Ewa Olszewska-Borys and reflects a fine, relief-detailed architectural composition. |

The Great Theatre in Warsaw was gutted by fire during the German assault on the city in September 1939 and lay in ruins for nearly two decades before a reconstruction project — politically charged under the socialist government — was completed in 1965. The rebuilt structure was deliberately enlarged beyond its original footprint, making it one of the largest opera houses in the world by stage area. This trial strike precedes the circulation issue and was produced in copper-nickel rather than the standard alloy, a material test rather than an artistic one.
