Obverse description The Polish White Eagle, the national coat of arms, is depicted centrally in the field, facing right with wings spread, rendered without a crown as was standard for the Polish People's Republic. The date 1983 is split to either side of the eagle's tail feathers, with the mint mark (MW) appearing below. The circular legend POLSKA RZECZPOSPOLITA LUDOWA arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination ZŁ 50 ZŁ appears in large numerals below the eagle along the lower rim.
