Trial strikes from the Mennica Polska in the early 1970s were produced internally to test die quality, metal flow, and striking pressure before committing to a final alloy and production run. This zinc example is one of several compositional tests documented for the Chopin 50-złotych type — Fischer and Parchimowicz both catalog distinct variants, suggesting a more methodical approval process than was typical for the period.
