China's lunar silver series has issued a 150g 70mm flagship denomination consistently since the early 2000s, with the People's Bank authorizing mintages tightly enough that secondary market premiums on recent issues have routinely outpaced the gold equivalents on a percentage basis. The Horse cycle last fell in 2014, when that year's large-format silver attracted significant speculative buying ahead of what turned out to be a cooling mainland collector market.
