正面描述 Central field features a finely detailed relief depiction of the Hall of Supreme Harmony (Taihedian) within the Forbidden City, Beijing, viewed from the front with its characteristic double-eaved hip roof and elevated stone platform, flanked by decorative rockery and architectural wings. The legend 中华人民共和国 (People's Republic of China) arcs along the upper periphery in Chinese characters. The date 1994 appears in the lower exergue, framed by decorative cloud-scroll ornaments on either side.

附加信息

Part of China's long-running Gold Coin series reproducing classical Chinese paintings, the 1994 issue drew from the genre of "playing children" imagery rooted in Song Dynasty court painting traditions. These small-format gold issues were produced primarily for the international collector market during a period when the People's Bank of China was aggressively expanding its commemorative program — annual thematic series multiplied sharply through the early 1990s as foreign exchange revenue from numismatic exports became a deliberate policy objective.

Mintages for this type were tightly controlled and have never been officially revised upward.
