China's Panda bullion series has changed its silver kilogram and fractional weights several times since the program launched in 1982, but the 150g denomination settled into a consistent spot in the modern lineup as the series expanded to serve institutional and collector buyers simultaneously. The 2021 issue was struck at one of the People's Bank of China's contracted mints — almost certainly Shenzhen Guobao or Shanghai — though official attribution between facilities is rarely disclosed in primary documentation.

That same year, China revised Panda coin legal tender face values for certain denominations as part of broader standardization across its precious metals program.
