Aanvullende informatie

The Chinese Panda gold series, launched in 1982, was one of the first bullion programs to change its reverse design annually — a deliberate policy decision that transformed the coins from pure bullion instruments into collectibles, driving demand well beyond what weight-based investors alone would generate. By 2011, this had become a defining feature of the series, with the People's Bank leaning into collector demand rather than resisting it.

KM#1978 corresponds to the 1/10 oz denomination within that year's issue. The annual design rotation means dies for any given year are retired permanently, with no restrikes authorized.
