Reverse description The reverse presents a bearded bust of the Venetian explorer Marco Polo facing slightly left, depicted in medieval traveler's attire with a draped hood, occupying the left portion of the field. To the right, two celebrated Beijing landmarks are depicted in fine engraved detail: the White Dagoba (Bai Ta) of Beihai Park in the upper register and the Forbidden City gate complex in the middle register, with a classical Chinese bridge over water rendered in the lower right field. The bilingual legend 马可·波罗 and MARCO POLO arcs along the upper border, accompanied by the explorer's birth and death years 1254–1324 along the right margin. The denomination 50元 appears at the bottom of the field, with the fineness and weight designation Ag 5oz .999 inscribed vertically at the left.
