正面描述 The left portion of the note carries the red embossed national emblem of the People's Republic of China in the upper-left corner, accompanied by the issuer name 中国人民银行 in red intaglio script and the commemorative inscription 人民币发行七十周年纪念 with the date range 1948–2018 below. The central and right fields are dominated by an elaborate concentric guilloche vignette in deep crimson and gold, incorporating miniaturised vignettes of historical Renminbi banknote designs arranged in a spiral pattern, evoking the passage of seventy years of currency history. The denomination numeral 50 appears in colour-shifting ink at lower left and in red at upper right, with the Chinese character denomination 伍拾圆 vertically arranged alongside.

备注

The Renminbi was officially launched on 1 December 1948, three months before the People's Republic itself was formally proclaimed — a detail that reflects how central currency unification was to the Communist Party's consolidation strategy. This commemorative note marks the 70th anniversary of that launch, issued as a single collectible denomination rather than as part of a circulating series. Such anniversary notes from the People's Bank are legal tender in practice but function almost entirely as collector items; the secondary market price far exceeds face value almost immediately upon release.

The China Banknote Printing and Minting Corporation holds a complete monopoly on PRC currency production, so there is no alternative print source to consider here.
