Obverse description The national emblem of the Mongolian People's Republic is depicted in the centre of the field, comprising a circular device featuring a horseman galloping across a landscape beneath radiating sunbeams, flanked by wheat sheaves and framed by a ribbon scroll inscribed 'БНМАУ' at the base. The surrounding legend reads 'БҮГД НАЙРАМДАХ МОНГОЛ АРД УЛС' in Cyrillic characters, running along the upper periphery within a beaded inner border. The date '1976' appears in the lower exergual area. The coin's rim is defined by a reeded edge.

Reverse description A Bactrian camel (Camelus bactrianus) is depicted in profile, striding to the left across a rocky desert landscape with a mountain range rising in the background and sparse steppe vegetation rendered in the lower field on either side. Stylised clouds appear in the upper field. The denomination '50' is inscribed in the lower centre of the field, with the Cyrillic legend 'ТӨГРӨГ' below it. The entire design is enclosed within a pronounced saw-tooth inner border, characteristic of this Conservation series issue.
