Taikazan — literally "ceremonial cauldron" — is a large cast-iron or copper vessel used in Kazakh communal cooking, traditionally central to major feasts and rites of passage. The 2014 commemorative program from the National Bank drew on this broader series celebrating objects of nomadic material culture, issuing several coins across different denominations tied to artifacts that defined steppe life before sedentarization.
Nickel brass was the consistent choice for this series, keeping production costs modest while allowing adequate surface detail for the subject matter.
