Altyn Kyran — "Golden Falcon" — is one of Kazakhstan's highest state honors, established in 1993 as the newly independent republic built its own system of national awards from scratch. This 50 tenge piece belongs to a commemorative series the National Bank issued through the mid-2000s celebrating Kazakh state symbols and decorations, a deliberate nation-building exercise in numismatic form.
