Descripción del anverso The national coat of arms of Kazakhstan occupies the upper central field, depicting two mythical steppe eagles with spread wings flanking a shining sun above a traditional yurt, surmounted by a five-pointed star. The inscription ҚАЗАҚСТАН appears on the shield at the base of the arms. The denomination 50 ТЕҢГЕ is prominently rendered in large numerals below the arms, with the word ТЕҢГЕ inscribed beneath. A circular Cyrillic legend reading ҚАЗАҚСТАН • ҰЛТТЫҚ БАНКІ • ҚҰБ runs along the rim, punctuated by decorative dots, with the mint monogram ҚҰБ at the right.

Información adicional

Kazakhstan issued this coin to mark the turn of the millennium while the country was barely eight years into its existence as an independent state, having only established the tenge as its national currency in 1993 following the collapse of the Soviet Union. The National Bank was still a young institution navigating the transition from a command economy, and commemorative issues like this one served a dual function: marking calendar events while also building the visual and material culture of a sovereign monetary system from scratch.
