Beschrijving voorzijde	Against a multicolour guilloche underprint, the left portion of the note carries a central vignette of fishermen in a dugout canoe on a tranquil lake at sunset, with mountains visible on the horizon. To the right, an oval intaglio portrait of President Hastings Kamuzu Banda is set within a fine-line border, with denomination numerals '50t' repeated at upper left and right. The lower field bears the date '1st March 1986', the Governor's signature, and the legend 'ISSUED UNDER THE RESERVE BANK OF MALAWI ACT, 1964'.
