| 背面描述 | Dark grayish green on light green and gray underprint. The central vignette presents two black grouse (Tetrao tetrix) rendered in a naturalistic style, characteristic of the Lithuanian Talonas wildlife series. The composition is spare, with the denomination implied by the overall series context rather than repeated typographic elements. |

The talonas was never meant to last. Introduced as a supplementary rationing coupon alongside the Soviet ruble in 1991, it was hastily repositioned as a transitional currency when Lithuania needed to break from the ruble zone ahead of restoring the litas. Spindulys, the Kaunas printing house with roots in interwar Lithuanian publishing, produced these notes domestically — a deliberate political statement about economic independence, even if the product showed it.
The watermark is rudimentary by any standard, a consequence of printing under time pressure with equipment not designed for security documents.
