| 正面描述 | Central field features the Golden Jubilee commemorative logo: a large numeral '50' with the zero rendered as a circular inset depicting the Bangladesh Bank seal. The legend 'Golden Jubilee of Independence' arcs along the upper periphery in Latin script, following the scalloped contour of the coin. The date span '1971-2021' appears below the central motif, with the denomination 'FIFTY TAKA' inscribed along the lower field. The design is executed in mirror-polished proof style against a reflective gold field. |

| 背面描述 | Central field presents a bust-length effigy of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the founding father of Bangladesh, depicted in a dynamic oratorical pose with his right index finger raised. The figure faces slightly to the left and is rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The circular legend in Bengali script arcs along the upper periphery reading 'স্বাধীনতার সুবর্ণ জয়ন্তী ১৯৭১-২০২১' (Golden Jubilee of Independence 1971-2021). The denomination 'পঞ্চাশ ৫০ টাকা' (Fifty 50 Taka) is inscribed along the lower field in Bengali script. |

Issued to mark the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence, declared on 26 March 1971 following the Pakistani military crackdown known as Operation Searchlight. The Liberation War that followed lasted nine months and resulted in an estimated 300,000 to 3 million deaths — a range that itself reflects the unresolved political disputes still surrounding the conflict. Bangladesh Bank's commemorative gold program has remained modest, making pieces like KM#38 genuinely limited rather than nominally so.
