| Obverse description | Grey and dark blue intaglio note with a central vignette of the Monument to the Heroes of October 9 (Monumento a los Próceres del 9 de Octubre) set within an elaborate guilloche frame, flanked on both sides by large numeral 50 underprints in ornate rosette patterns. The bank title BANCO CENTRAL DEL ECUADOR appears across the top, with the inscription SOCIEDAD ANÓNIMA below; the series designation SERIE TQ and the place and date of issue Quito, Agosto 10 de 1976 appear in the lower corners. Two signature lines at the bottom identify the GERENTE GENERAL and VOCAL with the SUPERINTENDENTE DE BANCOS legend centered beneath them, and the printer's imprint AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY runs along the lower margin. |
