Aanvullende informatie

Louis Napoleon, installed as King of Holland by his brother in 1806, took his role with unexpected seriousness — irritating Napoleon considerably by prioritizing Dutch interests over French imperial policy. This pattern was produced during his brief reign as part of efforts to rationalize Dutch coinage under the new monarchy. The Scholten reference places it firmly among the trial pieces of 1807, before the monetary system was revised again and Holland was simply annexed into France outright in 1810.

Patterns of this denomination are rare survivors. Most were never submitted for formal approval.
