Obverse description Central vignette presents an allegorical figure of Liberty, flanked by the face value numeral 50 repeated in all four corners and along the lateral borders. The issuing bank's title appears in a panel across the top, with the denomination rendered in full letters below the central vignette within a guilloche underprint field.
Obverse lettering BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR 50 50 CINCUENTA SOLES DE ORO DE ACUERDO A LA LEY 13958 LIMA, 9 de Febrero de 1962
(Translation: Central Reserve Bank of Peru will pay to the bearer 50 50 Fifty Soles de Oro (Golden Suns) in accordance with Law No. 13,958 Lima, February 9th, 1962)
Reverse description The national coat of arms occupies the central vignette, set against a fine guilloche underprint.
