Obverse description Intaglio portrait vignette of María Rostworowski (1915–2016), renowned Peruvian historian, occupies the right half of the note against a pink and rose guilloche underprint with pre-Columbian geometric motifs. Three facsimile signatures appear in the centre field beneath the titles PRESIDENTE, DIRECTOR, and GERENTE GENERAL, with the issue date at lower centre. A colour-shifting optically variable ink patch in the shape of a stepped pre-Columbian motif is positioned to the lower right, alongside the large intaglio numeral «50» at upper right and the serial number printed vertically on the right margin.

Reverse description The central vignette presents an intaglio portrait of a jaguar (Panthera onca) in three-quarter view occupying the left and centre of the note, rendered in deep rose-brown tones over a pale multicolour guilloche ground with pre-Columbian stepped fret watermark-style patterns. To the upper right, the flowering spike of the Puya raimondii — the giant bromeliad endemic to the Peruvian Andes — is engraved in fine detail. The Coat of Arms of Peru appears in blue intaglio at lower left, accompanied by the denomination numerals at lower right.
