Comments

Uzbekistan's first domestically printed banknotes — this 1994 series marks the transition away from Russian-printed issues that had served the newly independent state in its opening years. The GPO Davlat Belgisi facility in Tashkent had only recently come online, and the early output from this series reflects the limitations of a security printing infrastructure still finding its footing.

Watermarking is the sole security feature, a thin specification by any standard for mid-1990s issue.
