| Beschrijving voorzijde | The Somali national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a crowned heraldic shield bearing a five-pointed star, supported on either side by leopards rampant. Below the shield, crossed spears and an olive branch are displayed on a ribbon. The dates 1960 and 1970 flank the shield at left and right respectively, commemorating the tenth anniversary of independence.
